Dr Talia Isaacs is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL at the UCL Institute of Education, University College London. She has been teaching and researching varied topics in applied linguistics over the past 15 years and currently trains the next generation of language testing researchers and practitioners through a popular module that she designed at UCL in addition to postgraduate supervision. Her research interests span the topics of assessing speaking, specific purposes assessment, technology-mediated assessment, classroom-based assessment, and interfaces between language testing and second language acquisition. She is an expert member of the European Association for Language Testing and Assessment, a strategy group member of the UK Association for Language Testing and Assessment, and a founding member of the Canadian Association of Language Assessment. She has served on the Executive Board of the International Language Testing Association and on the Editorial Boards of Language Assessment Quarterly and Language Testing.
