The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, runs "Alumni UK", a global network for people from around the world who have studied in or with the UK as an overseas student.

In December 2025, we will host the first-ever Welcome Home Celebration in Japan, an event specially designed for UK alumni who have returned to Japan (in 2023 or later) after completing their studies with an UK higher education provider. This is a chance to reconnect with the UK, share your experiences, and meet others who have walked a similar path. Whether you are exploring how to apply your UK experience, shaping your next career step, or simply looking to connect, the Alumni UK community in Japan looks forward to welcoming you home and celebrating the start of your continued journey with the UK.

The main forum will be followed by a relaxed reception with British-style food, at the Hobgoblin Roppongi British pub.

Applications are also open for the "Alumni UK Japan Spotlight" - see details below.
