We are proud to present guided learning, a new programme that allows the Primary Plus course students and Secondary Plus students to study online from the comfort of their own home. Students can study English before and after class by logging in to British Council’s learning hub. It is set by their teacher to complete at their own pace, so class time is more focused on improving their English-speaking skills.

Through the learning hub;

  • Primary Starter, Primary 1 and 2 level students can access various activities such as quizzes and games which are linked to their module of study, and allow them to have fun in English at home.
  • Primary 3 and upper level students can prepare for the class through guided learning activities such as readings, videos, quizzes and games. This pre-study will help students to activate their learning before they come to class and enable them to participate in class more confidently. Students can also review what they have studied in the classroom and practise their English skills at home in order to improve learning outcomes.
  • Secondary Plus students can also discuss projects with classmates and upload work for teachers to review.
  • Your child’s progress on the learning hub is tracked, scored and presented in a personalised dashboard so that you can celebrate success and check areas for improvement. The teacher will also track your child’s progress and integrate the pre-class activities into the lesson. They will provide a written report on your child’s progress in class and with reference to guided learning at the end of each term.

Technical requirements

  • Google Chrome is the recommended browser, and the web address is: https://englishonlinelearn.britishcouncil.org/login
  • Your ID is the email address that you used to register for the course. Then enter the password you received from the centre.
  • The learning hub can be accessed using a desktop computer, laptop or tablet. We do not recommend using a mobile phone because we want to make sure all our students enjoy a quality learning experience.
