About you
I've been an English teacher since the millennium and I've worked in Vienna, Osaka, Singapore and Hong Kong. My hobbies are swimming, soccer (although in England we call it Association Football) and skiing. Japan is the best place in the world for skiing because there are a lot of resorts and the snow conditions are superb.

David Cruse

Qualification: PGCE, Trinity CERT, DELTA, MA in Applied Linguistics and TEFL

I’ve been teaching English since 2001, both in the UK and Japan. The thing I love most about teaching is seeing students grow in confidence as their English skills develop. I believe everyone can learn a language, and I strive to help every student in my classes reach their goals.  I love living in Tokyo, although it means I’m away from my main hobby, playing the euphonium in a British brass band. In Japan, I’ve replaced euphonium playing with travelling to new places and trying new dishes.

I’ve been teaching since 1997 and worked in the UK and the Czech Republic before coming to Japan. I enjoy continually learning new ways to help my students use English more confidently.

Outside work I like running, music, reading novels in Japanese and English, and escaping to the countryside whenever I can.

About you
I have been teaching English in Japan, mostly universities, for a few years, and I have also taught in the UK, Portugal and South Korea. As a British Indian, I am particularly interested in promoting and celebrating the diversity of Britain. I’m interested in learning about other cultures and ancient history too. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and discovering natural wonders of the earth.

Ken Pun

BSc in Psychology, CELTA, DELTA

I’ve been teaching English in Japan since 2012. I believe that students can learn not only from the teacher, but from other students as well. That’s why I always try to create a supportive environment in my lessons, where students are encouraged to work together and help each other.

In my free time I enjoy travelling, especially to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. When not travelling, you’ll find me in the kitchen recreating local dishes at home.

Alex Buckley

Qualifications: CELTA, IHCYLT

I’ve been teaching English since 2011, in the UAE, Vietnam and Japan. I enjoy the cultural exchange that comes with teaching students from different backgrounds. In my teaching, I aim to create a positive atmosphere where students feel comfortable practising their English, even if they make mistakes.

I enjoy living in Japan very much as there are so many beautiful places to visit. My first awareness of Japan as a child was through Nintendo, and I still enjoy their video games!
