Indian-born Anish Kapoor, who lives and works in London, is one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists. His Sky Mirror was first exhibited in Japan as part of “Anish Kapoor in Beppu”, held in autumn 2018, and seen by over thirty thousand visitors during the fifty-one days of the exhibition; it will be shown once more in Beppu Park, Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. “In Beppu” is an art festival in the format of a solo exhibition, realized in the course of an art project which invites an internationally active artist and capitalizes on the unique features of the local area. The Sky Mirror will be exhibited alongside “Kotaro Sekiguchi in Beppu”, a solo exhibition of works by this year’s invitee, Kotaro Sekiguchi.
