All Is True, a film directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh about the final years of William Shakespeare, the great British writer of whom it has been said “he knew everything about this world”, is coming to Japan. This evocative and moving film focuses on the final three years of Shakespeare’s life, after he stopped writing and moved from London back to his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, depicting the hitherto unknown “Shakespeare, the person”. Alongside Branagh, the star-studded cast includes Judi Dench, the recipient of an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress for Shakespeare in Love, Ian McKellen, Lydia Wilson, and Kathryn Wilder.
