Every year the British Council hosts a 'Pre-Departure Briefing for UK-bound students' to provide essential information to UK university offer holders in Japan who are about to start a course with a UK university or a foundation or pre-master course. This year’s British Council Japan Pre-Departure Briefing for UK-bound students will be held on Saturday 31 May 2025, at a venue in 'Kudan-Kaikan Terrace' (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
The event provides information about what and how to prepare, what to expect while studying, and tips to help students gain the most from their experience of studying with a UK university. Attending the event in person also provides participants with the opportunity to meet and connect with other students who will be studying with a UK university around the same time. This event is free to attend and is also open to those who are considering studying in the UK in the near future. There is an option to register to view the sessions online (livestream), for audiences that find it unpractical to travel to Tokyo.
This event will be conducted mostly in Japanese. Please view the Japanese page (by changing the language setting for this webpage) for more detailed programme details.
For offer holders and students starting a foundation or pre-master course this year, there is also an option to join the British Council Alumni UK breakfast meetup in the morning. This will be a valuable opportunity to meet alumni who have studied with a UK university, ask questions and collect useful information.
