Member of the House of Representatives
Taro Kono Joined Fuji Xerox in Tokyo in 1986 and Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific in Singapore in 1991. In 1993, he joined Nippon Tanshi in Kanagawa, Japan.
He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1996, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2012.
So far he was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for Public Management in 2002, Senior Vice-Minister of Justice in 2005, Chairman of the Standing Committees on Foreign Affairs in 2008, and Deputy Secretry-General in 2010. He was appointed to the Shadow Cabinet as Minister of State for Government Revitalization and Civil Service Reform in 2010.
He was appointed as President of Central Institute of Politics in 2012.
